Welcome

St. James' Parish is as diverse as our 300+ years of history. We draw from the Annapolis area and as far south as Calvert County. We have over 325 families and individuals. At the same time we are striving to, in some ways, remain a parish where everyone feels connected and a part of a vibrant Christian Community. Our parish emphasizes "Remembering the Past, Living our faith, and Worshipping into the Future". In the midst of the Eucharist each Sunday, we clearly proclaim "This is not our table, it is the Lord's, and everyone is Welcome". The Eucharist is extended to young and older, for we are all God's children. We are Sisters and Brothers in Christ and as such it is essential that we relate to each other as a family.

St. James' Parish 2012 Lenten Program

This year, our focus on Lent will begin on Shrove Tuesday, February 21st, with the annual Pancake Supper preceded by fellowship at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. On Ash Wednesday, February 22nd, there will be two services for the imposition of ashes - 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. - in St. James' Church.

The 2011 Lenten Program Series will begin on Wednesday, February 29th, with the first of five weekly programs that focus various religions. Held every Wednesday evening through March 28th, each program will discuss one of the major non-Christian religions of the world. Fellowship will begin at 6 p.m. with a soup dinner at 6:30 p.m. followed by the program from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Maundy Thursday Eucharist will be celebrated in St. James' Church on April 5th, at 7:30 p.m. after fellowship at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. The Good Friday Liturgy will be at 12 noon and again at 7:30 p.m. on April 6th in St. James' Church, and the Great Vigil of Easter will begin on Saturday, April 7th at 7:30 p.m.

Please join us for these thoughtful and insightful programs throughout Lent as we prepare ourselves for the celebration of Christ's resurrection.
